Apply the Netware 3.2 Enhancement Pack, or install the appropriate 3.12
patches from here:
http://download.novell.com/index.jsp
Using the drop-down menus, select "NetWare" under Product or Technology,
"NetWare 3.12" under version, and "All Dates". Press the search button, and
the applicable patches will be displayed.
Alternatively, you can look here:
http://support.novell.com/techcenter/articles/nc1997_04b.html
Applying these patches will allow you to load newer device drivers, e.g.,
*.HAM and *.CDM in place of the outdated *.DSK drivers.
If you are using IDE drives, you may also want to look here:
http://www.huweb.hu/maques/nwudma.htm
Now follow the applicable instructions here, to clone the old drive to the
new drive:
http://www.cpafw.com/Netware_easy_disk_upgrade.htm
You may encounter problems using SATA drives, or with PCI-X cards. These
challenges are not usually insurmountable.
Move the new disk back to the new computer. Manually load the appropriate
drivers for the new hardware. You may find that blocking the automatic
execution of the commands in STARTUP.NCF and/or AUTOEXEC.NCF is useful.
That is accomplished by adding the "-NA -NS" parameter to the
C:\NETWARE.312\SERVER.EXE command.
Edit STARTUP.NCF and AUTOEXEC.NCF as appropriate for the new hardware.
