Therefore, if your FAT is corrupted every time you restart your server, we
need to review the possible causes.
Are you shutting the server down cleanly? This means by using the DOWN
command, then EXIT at the DOS prompt. If you turn the system power off
without following this procedure, you risk corruption.
You could have a pending disk failure. Are any hot fix tracks in use?
You could have used disk geometry translation in your BIOS setting for an
IDE drive. This may eventually cause corruption.
