i did a setup in the past with two identical NW312 servers, booting from
floppy. the scsi adapters were interconnected, HBA1=id7, HBA2=id6, both
terminated. disk#1 in server#1 =id0, disk#2 in server#2 =id1
both disked are mirrored.
both servers are turned on, server#1 is booted into NW, server#2 is
sitting idle, no OS started.
if server#1 failes, but power is OK, server#1 is made idle, and the boot
floppy is transferred to server#2, and server#2 is booted.
if server#2 is completely dead, server 2 is booted, and the mirroring
broken.
so it was not automatically. tested it, but in the end i have never used
the fallback, server never broke down.
