Any additional components of the client installed (ie. ZFD agent services like Workstation
Manager, NMAS, NetIdentity, etc.)?
Is the client installed IP, IPX or both?
If both, right-click on the red N in the Windows system tray, select NetWare
Connections...
Are the connections being made with IP or IPX?
Was Windows installed from scratch, a custom image, or an OEM image?
Event Viewer logs showing anything unusual?
Security or any other driver-based software like firewall, VPN, remote management or
antivirus up and running?

Try optimizing the client configuration and/or using a different client.

Other things that may affect performance:
1. NSS volumes may be slower than traditional NW volumes for databases.
2. The server may need tuning.
3. IPX may be faster than IP on a LAN.
4. Duplex mismatches on the NIC/switch.
Try the client settings first. Here are some utilities you can use to help
test performance and optimize it.
