In addition to Andrew's most excellent advice (much needed in this case),
did someone recently change the password for whatever account BE is using? I
ask because of the "validate_user" tags in the walk.

Why do you want to stay at SP5? That means you don't take advantage of all bugfixes
within the last 4(!) years...

You need a new consultant. Anybody recommending SP5 at this point is
either crazy or clueless. In neither case should they have anything to do
with a production server.
