Abend 2 is of little use, as memory is already in a bad state from Abend
1. But you should plan to remove HPGATE as soon as possible, and move to
the Novell gateway; HP's gateway is no longer supported by them or
Novell, and is a notorious source of Abends and other problems. TID
2971536) points you to a utility to help with that.

Yes, you should. It may or may not affect your abend, but it necessary
in any case.
I also suggest you run a VRepair with options 2 and 4 ON against all
non-NSS volumes, as there are hints in the log of problems with file
compression or decompression.
