Since a few days I am getting regularly abends at one customers GW
systems. It is a NW5.1.8 server with GW6.5.6! No post-sp8 patches
installed. We just newly implemented GWAVA4 and moved the server to
VMWare a few weeks ago.

In GW Forum I've been told that it might a a winsock problem but not
exactly which patch I should install Any more tips would be much
aprreciated!

I don't know who said that, it's nothing to do with Winsock. The abend
is entirely in GroupWise, there is no mention of Winsock whatsoever:

EIP in GWENN4.NLM at code start +000D343Ah

Running process: GWTCP-HANDLER_2 Process

As you haven't posted the modules list we can't confirm you have the
latest of those GW modules though.

Nope. f=6. But they're outdated anyways. There's several post-sp6
patches, like:

http://download.novell.com/Download?buildid=tN1a3VmYvfY~

and

http://download.novell.com/Download?buildid=_EQ8Q2_QFKA~

No, they are all SP5:

GWENN4.NLM GroupWise Engine (release version)

Version 6.05f 1 February 2006

GWMTA.NLM GroupWise MTA (release version)

Version 6.05f 1 February 2006

GWPOA.NLM GroupWise Post Office Agent (Release version)

Version 6.05f 1 February 2006

You definitely need to apply SP6 to this machine. There are also some
post_SP6 updates to some of them, which you shoudl apply if you continue
to have problems
