The doc's outdated. The use of UP has nothing to do with the platform and
works everywhere that eDirectory runs (Linux (SUSE and RedHat are
supported), AIX, Solaris, etc.).
Try getting an iManager 2.7 SP3 FTF 4 (as of today) Workstation release
that you can run from your workstation. Add in the Password Management
plugins and go from there. It may just be that your server is broken for
one reason or another and this is, therefore, related to your iManager
instance and a new one (workstation-based for quick testing) will work.
