Can you retrieve nspmPasswordHistory attribute?

Hi,

Can you retrieve nspmPasswordHistory via ldapsearch (programmatically)?
I've noticed that the password history doesn't necessarily contain unique
list of passwords. For example, when administrator resets a user's
password to "blah" 3 times, these are stored as 3 separate entries. I want
to retrieve and modify nspmPasswordhistory so that duplicate entries do
not exist.

Any help here will be much appreciated. Thanks
