I am new to Zenworks and how it works. I am using LDAP for DIR
serivces in a Websense filtering environment. The users manual
authentication is failing. I have a situation where the user is found
with his attributes in other containers. We found a few problems,
including DNS, and configuration issues. When the authentication
problem persisted, we were able to diagnose that there were multiple
objects in LDAP with the same ID. We are aware that we need unique
users, and had cleaned up duplicates months ago. I used dstrace and A
search revealed unknown objects in LDAP with the same name as his
login. When we deleted them, things worked as expected. We now
believe that there is a program that is designed to create workstation
objects, with unique names based on the workstation name. This is to
identify workstations assigned IPs by DHCP. Instead, it is creating
unknown objects in various containers. ConsoleOne displays these
objects with a question mark (?). The LDAP administrator will clean
these objects out, and will work on determining how to avoid having
this happen again. A program called Zenworks is the current suspect.
Can Zenworks create user attributes in more than one container?.
If so how can I make it stop?
Any help in this area will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Grunches
