Setup: We have a branch of the overall RGU tree. Under this branch
nothing from above is supposed to filter down. Our branch is called
COMP,which we have full administrator access to. We use Netware 6 with
Zenworks
for Desktops 4. Our tree look something like this:
RGU
|-----------------------------------------------------|
COMP Other Dept
|------------------|
Users Workstations
Back in Netware 5.0 & Zenworks 2, we could stop any users that were
not in
the COMP container from logging onto our workstations (Also stored in
the COMP
container). This was done via a Workstation Policy Package and only
"Allowing" our users.
Under Netware 6, this seems to have changed. The Allow/Deny
workstation
list is now in the User Policy Package:
User Policy Package -> Winnt-2000-XP -> Dynamic Local User
Under" Dynamic Local User" tab, Select "Login Restrictions"
This causes a rather big problem for us. We only have access to the
User
Policy Packages under our COMP container, and to deny non-COMP users
would
require access to their User Policy Package.
This is causing issues as they force open NAL which in turn is rolling
software/settings which are damaging our PC Builds. Is there any way
of blocking their users from logging onto our workstations from within
our COMP container. Is there some sort of filter I can set at the
level of COMP.RGU or WORKSTATIONS.COMP.RGU? Am I missing something in
the Workstation Policy Packages?
