Have managed to setup a standard W2K workstation image that will work over
all our sites except the the windows hosts file in c:\winnt\system32
\drivers\etc. At each different site I need the hosts file to be updated
on the local workstations, because of the zenwsimport entry (There is no
local DNS).

Is there any way I can have this file updated as part of the imaging
process, by using scripted imaging or an add on image? I have not
investigated these avenues yet but am under time pressure so thought I'd
ask first for the best solution before barking up the wrong tree.

Thanks

Lenny

I had a quick look at Add on images which seemed the perfect solution and
it was alot quicker to implement than I thought. Trouble is it doesn't
work. Created a snapshot application to update the hosts file but it
didn't copy. Also had a snapshot application to roll our printer setups
and this didn't work either. Both these snapshot applications work fine
you run them from the NAL window so I know there's nothing wrong there.
There must be a simple solution to this as the base imaging process has
worked a dream for us so far.

Thanks

If you are searching for drivers or have already compiled one take
a look at http://forge.novell.com/modules/xfmod/project/?zfdimgdrv

Have re-posted this in a new thread as the add on imaging process is now
the real issue, not trying to update a hosts file. Using Zenworks 4.01
and I just can't get the Add on image aspect to work, whatever I try and
add on.
