I need to change imaging proxy address on all machines ( because we want to
move imaging from one server to another ) so I thought I would push an
altered settings.txt via Zenworks update ( using .sig file etc. ).
I added new settings.txt to /updates/bin and to the list of files to be
copied over to Zenworks partition during the update. It copies everything Ok
as usual, and does pick up a new imaging proxy IP address ( as can be seen
when going to bash prompt - "..proxy address set to new_IP_address_here " )
BUT when auto imaging kicks in first it sits for a while on that ( blank )
blue screen then comes up with some red writing like Error : PROXYADDR
environment variable not found or something similar. Obviously imaging
doesn't proceed correctly after that so I can not even update Zenworks files
anymore because auto imaging can't connect to any imaging server ( new or
old ).
Any ideas ?
Andrew.
To work out the reason just use "export" in bash prompt and notice how
PROXYADDR variable is stuffed ( because of the difference in CR LF
apparently ). I knew this was an issue with .s files but hoped it wasn't for
settings.txt. Well it turns out it is. I wish there was a basic tool to edit
those all files in Windows or at least to be openly told not to do so in
Novell documentation ( there is only one doc that mentions it somewhere in
Coolsolutions or some TID ).
Hope this helps,
Andrew
