Diane,
using the latest patches for Zen 4 and NW6 SP3 you should be able to
use files > 4GB.
For the image size, in the image explorer there is an option to Purge
deleted files. You need to run that in order to physically remove the
files from the image.

We are using an NSS volume. I did notice that the image I was able to
use on Friday has changed in size. It is now reporting 4,194,304 in
size. This same image was reporting 3,2??,??? in size on Friday and was
imaging just fine. How and why would it change? Could it be compression?

PLEASE HELP!

Hi! Thanks for the reply. The workstation that I am using to view the
file on the zen server is at client 4.83 SP1. The zen server itself is
at version 4 SP1. The workstation that I am collecting the image from is
at client version 4.90. We are using Netware 6 SP3 on the main server
side.

Please let me know what you think.

Thanks, Diane

You need a 4.9 to see correctly / move / copy files bigger than 4 gb,
that's a limitation of the older clients

about the other things... no idea right now..

Will this only work with NW6 & sp3? What about NW5 SP5? What actually
fixes it, the zen patch or the combo of zen and sp3?

Diane,
Did you ever get this worked out? I had the exact same problem. I was
taking an image of a workstation that was over 4gb yet it also shows a size
of 4,194,304 KB. I have attempet several time to take the image and then
open in in Image Explorer, no luck. I also just installed the server side
patches for zen 4.01, didn't help.
Thanks.

Bill,
you need SP3 or SP6 on the server and the current zenpatch.
If you want to view, copy, ... it with a workstation you need also the
4.9 client.

Hi!

I am sorry that I did not reply before this time. I reduced the image to
inder 4GB and it works now. However, this is creating a problem because
we need some of the programs on this image that were removed. Everything
on the server and client and updated, but the problem still persists.

A solution would be great!

Thanks, Diane

I am working on that. I keep you updated.

We need to go back to the start. From your initial postings, it sounds
as if the Image was ok initially, but you destroyed it by using Image
Explorer from a machine using Client 4.83 against the image. This is
normal and to be expected, as Client < 4.9 can't handle files bigger
than 4gig on a server, and will destroy them. Can you start from
scratch, create a new image bigger than 4GB, and without touching it at
all from a client, verify that you can succesfully put it back on a
machine?
