I use batch files (converted into a .COM file) run from login scripts
to perform various operations. I feel there must be a more up to date
way of doing this.

One recent headache has been trying to copy files into folders with
more than 8 characters on the local machine. I have to resort to the
progra~1 style, which can slow things down a bit.

I should add that these files are user profiles on the local machine.

What are your thoughts?
Cheers
Mark

This is an obsolete newsgroup which is no longer part of the official
Novell support hierachy, and you are not likely to get an answer to
your problem here. I suggest you visit
http://support.novell.com/forums and post to one of the official
Novell support newsgroups.
