Sorry if this appears twice but I don't see my first post listed.

Is Secure FTP possible for Netware 5.1 ?
I am running N5.1 with the latest FTP server, fro reading it looks like N6.5
with FTP is the only one offering Secure FTP.

Thanks,

Wayne Hansen

Thanks Andy,

I guess I should have read a little harder :-p
It was very obvious.

Thanks for the reply. Much appreciated.

Hi,

I tried getting this thing to work in SFTP-mode - and failed. The
FTP-server itself works fine, but is there a Win-Client to get on it? I
always get the error:

KOMMANDO:> AUTH SSL
234 Enabling SSL
STATUS:> SSL Connecting to server.
STATUS:> SSL Connection established. All transaction are secure now.
STATUS:> Connected. LogIn ...
KOMMANDO:> USER .xxx.xxxx.xxx
221 Closing Session
STATUS:> Login successful ...

FEHLER:> Socketerror: Unknow Socketerror (0)
KOMMANDO:> PROT P
FEHLER:> Socketerror: Unknow Socketerror (0)
KOMMANDO:> PWD
FEHLER:> Socketerror: Unknow Socketerror (0)

I tried with WS-FTP und FTP Voyager.
Unsecure connection works.

Any help welcome

login and ssl works..

so did you open the not only the command but also the data port?

with normal ftp it is 20 and 21. would have to look up the ports for ssl,
also one of the ports is incoming and the other one is outgoing.

which firewall do you use?

Marcus,

normal FTp works fine on Ports 20 and 21.
The firewall is a linux-box. I will have a look on that.

you could probably also ask the question in the BM forum as it looks more
like a Firewall Issue..

they should know in there which ports you will have to use, you will
probably also need a masq module for sftp like there is one for ftp.
