Hi all,

I'm currently running BM3.6 as my firewall and vpn server. Now, I wanted to
setup a RADIUS server to use on my wireless LAN for authentication. Is it ok
to setup another BM3.6 server with just RADIUS installed on it without
breaking anything in the licensing agreement?

Please advise.

Thanks.

Well, with 3.6 there was both user-based licensing and server-based licensing.
3.6 was the only release where server-based was an option (and almost no one
bought it, so we killed it). If you have server-based licensing, you should
upgrade to 3.8 and convert to user-based, then you can install as many servers
as you want. [The conversion rate, btw, is one 3.6 server license = 2,500 3.8
users. If you need more seats, your Novell account manager can get you the
difference at zero cost, but you will be expected to pay upgrade protection on
the full new user count.]

I'm not saying you need to upgrade the actual software on the boxes if you're
not ready to do so, just purchase the newer license.

But if you bought a user-based 3.6 license, you are free to install as many 3.6
servers as you need.
