The NetWare 6.5 docs just copied the NMAS EE docs over without removing the
RADIUS part...

See my note (reply to Scott).
If your rep told you that, get it from him in writing. Then talk to his
boss. Poo rolls downhill.
I have also pointed out in the past that the NMAS in NW6 and 6.5 is
misleading in that they appear to be "lite" versions of EE, yet the docs
point to full NMAS EE docs. It's hard to find a definitive note which
describes what's in the lite versions vs. the full versions.
Back then I pointed out that Win2000 had Radius services in the OS, and it
is extremely disappointing that NetWare "NOS" continues to exclude it as a
standard option.
One cannot blame administrators for feeling sour about it.
Very confusing. Sorry. Was not my product group....

Y'know, Graham, sometimes in a large organization everyone knows the right
thing to do but for whatever reason it still takes months and months. Like
giving NBM 3.7 to people who bought NSBS 6.0 -- We JUST fixed that finally
this month. There's now a part number on the price list that allows those
customers to get NBM 3.7 "free" for the cost of a media kit ($15).
Eighteen months late. I know. We do the best we can.
Ditto for RADIUS. It's been fixed finally, and you will see the fix w/i two
weeks or you may come to Provo and kick my ass.

Hey, I might just hold you to that. Been thinking about using my Asiamiles
to get to NBS, so I can KYA on stage.

Now I'm lost.
All I want is a RADIUS NLM that works with the 802.1x authentcation.
Apparantly the RADIUS that is in BMAS does this. But I don't want to
buy BMAS just for this. So does the RADIUS in BM3.8 now have the
RADIUS from BMAS? Or does 6.5 ahve the RADIUS from BMAS?
whew. :)
As I understand it, yes - BM3.8 includes Radius. The BMAS version of Radius
is now quite old and I am sure the version in BM3.8 is similar in some
areas, and improved in others.
Also, I differ somewhat what Craig said, I am quite sure that both iChain
and NMAS-EE (the full product) include a Radius which is very similar to the
BM version, but that was a while ago and things may have changed since then.
>Or does 6.5 ahve the RADIUS from BMAS?
As I understand it, NO - and this is what I have been "moaning" about. The
fact is, in order to get Radius, you have to spend a lot of $$ to buy a
separate product - BM, iChain, or NMAS - even if you only want to add Radius
functionality to your environment. Additionally, as you have found, the
NW6.5 docs are hopeless in that they point to the NMAS EE versions which
leads you to run around looking for the Radius components in NW6.5 which are
just not there. There should be a separate NMAS doc just for the "lite"
version that ships with NW6.5.
I guess our point to Scott Jones is that all this is just "not cricket", and
I think he accepts that, and did promise to do "something" about it, and
that "something" will be actioned like now. But what that "something" is, he
was not specific, just check the download section of the website. I think we
can only wait and see. My hope is that Radius services will be available as
a free add-on to NW6.5, it should have been in the product since 5.x anyway.

Time's up! I'm on a plane right now, prepare to have your ass kicked!! :-)
