Last night a server (NW6 SP3) was migrated to new hardware using the
migration wizard. Everything was fine afterward, except for the RADIUS
service it runs.

The error is "Fail to register BorderManager Authentication Services
license." and all I can do is press any key to close the RADIUS screen.

Thing is, we had this exact same problem before when we upgraded from 5.1
to 6 on the old box. My boss found the TID that solved our problems then,
but as yet none of us can find it this morning!

The license under BMAS+370 is there. It wasn't assigned to a server (none
of them are, but from what I've read these are supposed to be MLA style
licenses now?), but after doing so it made no difference (I also un / re
loaded NLSLSP before trying to restart RADIUS).

Help?

What does the license policy say? If it is 'unlimited' it should work
without a specific server assignment.

You might try the latest NLS patch (NLS603FT.EXE) followed by running
SETUPNLS.

Thanks Craig. The license is indeed unlimited. Frustrated and out of ideas,
I broke out my BM CD and licnese diskette, and re-installed the BMAS
portion of BM on the server. Viola, the service started right up (even
without a reboot!).

Hmmm - now I wonder if the newer RADIUS has some extra license issue.

I had this same problem, sounds like, but reinstall product and/or
license did not fix it, the server just will not acquire the license so
the nlm won't load. I'm looking for some secret repair switch I can use,
as the client wants me to go back to 4.11 running nwconnect.

Might want to open an incident on this one.

I'm not a lot of help with RADIUS issues I'm afraid. I don't have a
working system for testing RADIUS.
