I have BM 3.5 with 600 user licenses. I am only running the radius nlm for
a Cisco dial in system and an 3rd party VPN solution.
After talking to Novell licensing in October they told me that the RADIUS
part of BM was going to be pulled out and become a free download.

They thought that it would be around Nov - Dec time frame for it to
happen. I have looked and found nothing that would confirm that
information on the Novell Web site. Anyone have any confirming info about
this?

Thanks

This was discussed at some length in the thread entitled "Netware 6.5
NMAS/Radius" dated 5 Nov 2003, but like you I have not seen anything that
Scott promised. Perhaps the people involved have been sacked like he said!!
Remember it has been XMas and New Year, and people are only just "waking up"
from their torpor. Actually since it will be Chinese New Year in a few days
time, I think I'll stay in holiday mode until end of Jan.

He's probably reading this, so hopefully we will get a reply here, one
positive thing I must say is that it is excellent to see the official
product managers participating in a public newsgroup. OK, I'm grovelling!

Hello... yes, I'm reading this. :)

We were ready to post a month ago when we got push back from the support
organization, so then we had to jump through some additional hoops and finally
got all the approvals we needed just prior to the break.

I've learned to promise nothing on this because Product Management has been
trying to make the NetWare RADIUS Server a free download for a ***year and a
half***! But we're closer than we've ever been. Tim Harris submitted the
support plan they asked for today, in fact, so hopefully there's nothing left
between us and free RADIUS except an FTP upload....

This is good news. We've been smiley users of RADIUS for NDS v1.04 for the
longest time. I added the first Nw6.5sp1 server to our tree over the
holidays and this disabled RADIUS for NDS. Now I know it's not a supported
product, but it's been working and it's free. Strangely, what broke it is
sp1. It works on Nw6.5 without sp1, but the problem is that once you have
any server in your tree at Nw6.5sp1, RADIUS for NDS will not work thereafter
on any server in the tree.

Don't suppose the new product will be called RADIUS for eDir v2?

Just my thoughts. Thanks.
Tony
