LS,

I have a network with 3 servers, 1 for file-printing, 1 for mail (Groupwise)
and 1 for the Bordermanager. All 3 server are connected to each other and
the BM-server has an extra NIC going to the router. I tried to set this up
so mail can come in. On the router I set PAT so that port 25 is routed to
the BM-server. I can't tell my router to forward all traffic for port 25 to
an address that is not on its own LAN. The router only accepts adresses for
the public side of the BM-server. How do I solve this?

Add secondary ipaddress x.x.x.x on the BMgr server. (Give it a secondary
public IP address that the router can understand).

Have port 25 forwarded to the x.x.x.x address.

Set up static NAT on the BMgr server, mapping x.x.x.x to the mail server.

Add filter exceptions allowing SMTP through the BMgr server, in both
directions.

The internal mail server needs to have a default route pointing to the BMgr
private IP address.

It's how I have my router set up, and I have documented this scenario
in one of the scenarios in my BMgr 3.x book.
