Mobile wireless inside the LAN

Hi
I have a small problem with mobile devices using GW
When they are outside the office they can send / retrieve email using imap & smtp and the servername mail.domain.com
mail.domain.com resolves to the WAN address of the firewall which then forwards relevant ports to the LAN address of the GW server
So that all works fine until the mobile devices move into the office
They then pick up on the office wireless access point on the LAN, which is of course now inside the firewall
As a result they now seem unable to send / retrieve email possibly as they can't go out and back through the same firewall
I guess what I need is for mail.domain.com to resolve to the firewall WAN IP address when they are out of the office
but for mail.domain.com to resolve to the GW server LAN IP address when the devices are situated inside the office
However I'm not sure quite how to achieve this
Anyone have any ideas how to overcome this problem
Thanks

Setup an internal DNS server.

Ah yes, many thanks Joe
I rather suspected that might be an answer
Since my GW installation is on NW65 SP8 would you recommend enabling DNS on the NetWare server ?
If so how is this done
I suspect that the DNS option was not checked during the original installation
Can this be installed retrospectively ?
Do you know if there's a TID covering configuration ?
Thanks

On the console launch dnipinst.nlm which will create the DNS/DHCP
locater object within eDir. Then use either the old fashioned DNS/DHCP
management tool to configure it or use iManager.

Thanks Edward
I'm afraid that I'm still stumbling though
I've no idea how to set up my internal DNS as mail.server.com
Is there a TID covering this ?
I've tried both the old and iManager methods without success
Also I'm worried that by setting up an internal DNS for mail.server.com on say 192.168.1.1
this might screw up my external DNS resolving mail.server.com to say 195.12.201.1 for outside users
Are you able to confirm these two wont conflict ?
Thanks

Once you setup your DNS server you create a domain it needs to service.
Under that domain you create a A record for your mail.server.com.

Have you looked at the documentation ?

You internal DNS server won't conflict with what is registered
externally as that is maintained by a ISP.

Nope
I haven't been able to find any instructions on how to set up the DNS server
Was rather hoping for a link or TID :)

Well, the documentation is nothing different from a TID :)

Sounds like you may need some help with the concepts on configuring DNS
in addition to learning the technical aspects of doing it on NetWare.
I'd recommend picking up this book as it's really good on explaining DNS
and how it works.

http://oreilly.com/catalog/9780596100575/

After reading that the NetWare documentation may make more sense.

http://www.novell.com/documentation/nw65/ntwk_dnsdhcp_nw/data/ahwkeld.html#ahwkeld

Also, since NetWare goes out of general support next month, now may be
the time to begin learning OES2. Here's the documentation on configuring
DNS on OES2 Linux.
