Using Linux as a DBCopy backup destination

Greetings:
Does anyone see any gotchas for using the Linux version of DBCopy to back up
my Netware Groupwise 7 postoffices to a Linux filesystem, where they will be
then backed up to tape?
I have a rather decently scripted system in place now that automates this
but my only concern is if I ever have to recover from a failure what the
implications of such a layout might be....
Thoughts?
