You could try a validate to see if there's any issues with the domain.

What kind of object is it ? Have you tried to graft everything and then
delete it ?

You won't need to shutdown your MTA for a validate.

Coz the eDir object probably got deleted with a consoleone that didn't
have the gwise snapins installed.
