Hello,

we´ve got an new second Internetdomainname. Now i want to configure one User in our Net to send mail´s from this new domain. I did the following steps:

- add the second Domain under GroupWise System Operations -> Internetaddressing

- go into the User Object GroupWise Internetaddressing Option  and add the new Internetdomainname as prefered.

If i look in the the GroupWise Adress book (in GW Client) is see the new email Address.
I wrote a new mail and see in the send items  properties that the mail is created with the new email address.

When i look in the GWIA log i see that the message is send out with the old Internetdomainname. What is wrong? Is there another GWIA Switch?

Regards
Christian

Are GWIA and the PO under the same GW domain? My guess is that not, and
tha tthe chnage didn't make it to the domain under which GWIA exists.

Hello,

it is a very simple configuration one MTA, one POA and one GWIA.

I will check the foreign id Option in C1 and report the result.

Then I'd check if you don't have an astray /DIA switch in gwia.cfg, *or*
verify the affected user doesn't have a gateway alias defined. The alias
overrides IA.

The foreign ID doesn't matter, as much as I hate to contradict Dave. ;)
The only time the foreign ID of the GWIA causes any whatsoever effect is
when you have a domain defined there that is *NOT* defined in internet
addressing. But that causes a very different effect, in that GWIA will
accept *all* mails to that domain, and possibly produces bounces, which
is nasty. It has no effect on outgoing message addresses though.

Wonder if it is the same problem I had a while ago, that needed the GWIA
to be deleted and recreated to shake that stuck address loose ?.

The reasoning for clearing the foreign ID is first to save confusion, as
you say - it *should* not be relevant in the later versions of GW, but
also to see if changing that actually clears the errant record in the
domain database. Not that it worked here, but it is always worth a try <g>
