It runs through most of the install and then prompts me telling me to run
outlook and make it the default mail client because the messenging
service can not handle the request. Outlook is set as the default mail
client.

I clear that and get:

"failed to extract file 'NewBinary19' from the binary table"

I clear that and then it tells me that GW couldn't be installed and to
run setup again.

Any ideas?

I also wanted to add that GW Messenger (The IM Client) works fine, as
does Notify. But the actual GW client will not run.

I have repeatedly tried installing it. I have disabled SAVCE. I Killed
all process that were not required to run windows. The same installation
directory was used to install it on several other workstations
successfully. Not a rights issue either.

I'm baffled.

Uninstall all things Groupwise. Install WMS manually. Reboot. Install
the groupwise client with the setup.exe not with the MSI.

This is a problem with mapi32, delete Windows NT Messaging and then try
again to install GroupWise. During the installation Windows NT Messaging
will be re-installed but now with the right mapi32 file(s). The
installation routine will tell you what to do.

I did as you suggested and the initial outlook message never popped up
during the messenging install like it was doing. After the reboot I ran
the setup.exe and got the same "failed to extract file 'NewBinary19' from
the binary table" error, and the same chain of events followed as I
previously described.

I have installed GW to other PCs using the same CD, so I know that the
software media itself is valid.

Any other thoughts?

Thanks for the ideas thus far!

Which OS are you installing GroupWise on?

We have seen the "failed to extract NewBinary19" but I think that it was
with Vista.

We do not have a supported client on Vista yet. However, we are working on
it and will have solutions for our customers before Vista ships.

Let us know.
