Hi all,
While rolling out the GW 703 client one of our users liked the "panels" in the home view so much that she has added all available and created some custom ones. After she's done that she logged off GW, then upon re-login to GW the client crashes. Here are some facts:
- User did login to the GW client 7.0.3 after the upgrade successfully, it only started crashing after adding the panels.
- User CAN login on WebAccess & any other GW client prior to version 7
- Running "Reset Client options" on the user's account didn't help.
- Windows reports that the "gwxplt1.dll" is the offending process.
- Same result (GW crashes) is achieved when user logs to any other workstation with any of the newer GW clients(7 or newer)
- Server back-end running NW 6.5.7 and GW 7.0.3
- When running GWCHECK on the user's account it return no issues

Any ideas how to revert that "panel" selection from the system side or any other input would be appreciated

Ash.

* Ash,

not sure, but try a GWCheck with "Reset client options".

Uwe,

Sorry, already tried that one, apparently this is a defect (As per NOVELL), the only fix is for the user's database to be populated with the default settings (Novell does that), this reverts client settings similar as to when a user gets a fresh install of the client for the first time. There is no other work around to that.

Ash,

so this is already fixed? Because else I'd suggest the /safe switch to launch the client, maybe that could grant you access.

Uwe,

I don't remember if I tried that, now that this has been fixed by Novell
this option would be mute!
I hope not to come across this issue with any other users, however if I do I
will make sure to give the "/safe" switch a run, thanks for your help.

I just realized this is a GW8 only switch, so I assume they designed it for errors like the one you are encountering on GW7.
