Problem:
The user (a lawyer) starts typing a new message. If, at any point in the
message, he types a word beginning with the letters "nex", GroupWise shuts
down with the dreaded "GroupWise has experienced an error and will close. A
log file will be generated." He can type "ex-wife", and "new", but as soon
as he types "nex" (attempting to use the word "next"), GroupWise shuts down.
My first thought was that the problem was with quick correct, so I disabled
it. The problem persisted. I uninstalled, rebooted, and reinstalled the GW
client... remembering to disable quick correct. Problem went away for about
3 days. Then, in the dark of night, the problem was resurrected.
I looked at the quick correct list (even though it was disabled) and found
ASCII type characters as the replacement words (obvious corruption). I
uninstalled, rebooted, manually deleted the c:\novell\groupwise folder,
rebooted, and then reinstalled the GW client.
This time, the problem was fixed for sure.....
WRONG!!!!. 5 days later, again after a dark stormy night, and possibly a
full moon, the demonic possession of this GW client is back. And now it is
worse. Words starting with "nec" do the same thing.....
I need a quick correct exorcism.......
Any ideas?
Thanks

This is a known issue with the IR1 client and will be fixed in SP2. If
you need an immediate patch for IR1 let me know if your email address is
correct and I can have it sent to you.

My contact tried to send it to you twice but it bounced. I came back
here to verify your address and see that the one I used (your posting
address) is incorrect... you have it as tcampell@ instead of
tcampbell@... not sure if that was intentional, but it's confusing <g>
I'll now have it sent to tcampbell and you should get it.

Novell reports that the file can't be delivered to tcam...@tcgnc.com.
Do you have an alternate address that can accept attachments?

Ok, one last try :-) If this one doesn't work you'll have to wait for
SP2. Sorry!
