The MTA is not related to password changes, only the POA is involved.

Just so I'm clear, when you load the Gwise fat client as the user in
question it prompts you for a password and accepts the password that you
are trying in webaccess? If this is the case then we have problems...
By chance are there multiple post offices? Or has an account existed
previously with the same user name

Could you put the post office to verbose logging and post an extract of
the log for a successful login from the fat client and a failed login
from webaccess

When I login to user Julie from webaccess, it does not even attempt to
login in the POA. When I login Via webaccess another user I get a
heading example: Login WebAccess ::GW Id=ge :: 10.184.51.227
[10.184.51.252]

When I login from the Fat client it gives me “Error: Path not found
[8209] User:Julie” but I can get in to her email.

The 8209 is (as it says) a file/path not found. In the context that its
being reported by the fat client the cause is most likely that the view
files have not been updated with your last GroupWise Client upgrade

The only thing I can think of to cause the failed login error for Julie
while logging in via webaccess is that webaccess is looking to another
post office than the one that Julie exists in. Do you have other post
offices, was Julie's account moved between post offices by chance?

Have you checked for stuck moves?

About a month a ago, Group of users had an error when a Gwcheck was
running during the day. Their mailboxes were locked and could not send
emails. I cannot remember exact error but it involved c057, and one
other error pointing to a corruption on the Msg14.db file. The fastest
way I was able to get those users back and operational was to find the
MSG14.dbA file that had backed up prior to the repair and renamed it
back to msg14.db. After I did that everyone was able work. I ran full
repair on the postoffice over the weekend using GWcheck.
The reason why I brought this to your attention is because when looking
into the PO in verbose mode, the Group of users that were involved with
the same msgfile were getting the same error, however all of them except
for Julie are able to login with both clients. I might have a second
problem that I am not sure how to repair. I have a single post Office
system. (if I did have multiple PO system where and how would I check
for stuck move). As far as the View files, don’t all users use the same
View file from the PO folder? If so shouldn’t everyone have the same
problem? Do individuals point to different View files?
