I asked this question in another thread, but I think it got lost due to the
original question being answered.
I recently removed a domain from my Groupwise system and associated it with
another mail system. When I go in through the Groupwise client and send an
email to wa...@domain.name it gets delivered properly to the new mail system.
If I use a pop client though and send an email to wa...@domain.name it is
delivered locally in the Groupwise system, even though that domain is no
longer associated with Groupwise. I know I must be missing a setting
somewhere. Any one have any idea of where to look?

Surely the GWIA should no longer be able to receive mail for an internet
domain that has been removed from the internet addressing list in C1.

If that domain has been removed, then try attaching to the owning domain
of the GWIA and seeing if the removed domain still shows. Could be that
the admin message never made it through to the GWIA domain.

The GWIA only knows what domains it can receive for, once it has accepted
a valid mail to a valid address, it loses interest in the internet domain
part and simply forwards the mail to, in this case, 'wade' in the internal
system

Also, side issue, POP is receive only, SMTP is send, check what SMTP
server you are using to send to in the POP client setup

Cheers Dave

I'm sorry, I guess I wasn't real clear originally.
I have removed the domain (which happens to be travelpdx.com) from GWIA.
Whats strange is if you send an email to wa...@travelpdx.com through the
Groupwise client, it is delivered correctly. I have some pop/smtp clients
setup on Groupwise and they are setup correctly. All mail flows properly out
of GWIA to the correct domains except for travelpdx.com email. If I send an
email to wa...@travelpdx.com from the pop/smtp client it gets delivered to
the user wade in the Groupwise system. I can't see any reason why it should
be delivered there. GWIA should recognize that the travelpdx.com domain is
not one it answers for and then send it out appropriatly as it does with the
email being sent from a Groupwise client. Like I said before, I must have
missed a setting/configuration somewhere, but I'm at a loss as to what it
could be

Also, as a side note, I just did check again to ensure that the
travelpdx.com doamin is not listed in the internet addressing. It is not
there

And were you connected to the owning domain of the GWIA when you checked
the internet domain list in C1. Definitely sounds like the GWIA still
believes that it should accept mail for us...@travelpdx.com.

You could even try just using a telnet session to the GWIA and manually
send a message to wade at travelpdx.com and watch the GWIA screen to see
if it is accepted

Yes, I was connected to the domain. I know it sounds like it still thinks it
should accept email for travelpdx.com, but I can't find anything that would
tell it to. I can't remember all the commands to send an email hrough GWIA
with telnet. I'll see if I can find them, but if you know them off the top
of your head, I would appreciate it.

Ok, I did this.
What I saw was it accepting the connection, then recipient:
wa...@travelpdx.com, then queuing to MTA. It arrived in the groupwise mailbox
after that. I don't understand whats happening.....

Have you checked the access control settings for any exceptions such as To
address *@travelpdx.com or something. If you do delete and reinstall the
GWIA, but retain the existing gwac.db, then if the problem is in there, it
will remain.

Maybe try rebuilding the domain that owns the GWIA, assuming it is a
secondary.

Well, I've got it working properly now. It only took removing the existing
GWIA and re-installing it 3 times before it worked right. Not sure what the
problem was, but it is working now

Sorry I see this so late. The foreign ID filed of your GWIA was almost
certainly your killer. I bet it still had your domain listed.
