sorry for my bad English.
I have a problem with my Groupwise System concerning access with POP3
Clients like Outlook
System Specification:
Novell Small Business Suite 6
Novell Groupwise 6.0 SP4
Webaccess installed, works fine
When I try to login via Outlook I get the following Error Message:
Ein Problem ist bei der Anmeldung am Mailserver aufgetreten. Das Kennwort
wurde zurückgewiesen. Konto: '199.199.1.1', Server: '199.199.1.1',
Protokoll: POP3, Serverantwort: '-ERR Login Failed', Port: 110, Secure
(SSL): Nein, Serverfehler: 0x800CCC90, Fehlernummer: 0x800CCC92
Translation:
A Problem appeared while login to Mail-Server. The Password is wrong.

But the Password is right.
I tried to login via Telnet, same problem.
I tried to login via GroupWise Client (Version 6.0) over POP3 and IMap,
same problem.
In the setting of the Internet Agent POP3 and IMap access is activated,
also the settings of the links with the Post Offices are right.
WebAccess works fine, Access via Groupwise Client in the normal way, too.
Can somebody help me ?
We have big problems with spam and now i want to change the configuration
of Groupwise and i need the POP3 Access working
Cheers Dave

this problem is still existing. Cannot login to GWIA using a POP3 Client
like Outlook. I´ve tried to a find a solution by searching all Knowledge
Bases and Support and Discussion forums, I´ve tried looking for an answer
in Google. No help. Porblem still exists. I´ve tried to solve the problem
by using another eMail-Server-Application in addition to Groupwise, Users
using the Groupwise-Client are working with Groupwise, Users using Outlook
download from the other eMail Server Application. With only 2 Users using
Outlook this was a Solution, but not a good one. But now I have to find a
way to access Groupwise Mailboxes with POP3 Clients. Because now there are
more users using Outlook, Thunderbird etc.
Is there someone who can help me.
Our Groupwise-System works very good, no hang-ups, no abends, no errors,
not data-losts. All Users are happy with Groupwise. And thats why I don´t
want to buy Exchange or another Groupware-Solution only because of POP3
access not working.
You know we can't read your mind and know what you've tried already :)

Are you using the correct IP address and/or DNS name for the GWIA?
Is your firewall setup correctly?
