Saved sent Items when replying from within a shared folder.

I had a user inquire about items that are replied from within a shared
folder. He wanted to know if there was a way for the sent item of an email
that was replied to while in a shared folder could also be saved in the
shared folder - so that a trail could be established by other members of the
shared folder? He says that in Outlook, whenever a person replies to an
email that exists within a shared folder, the sent item gets copied to the
shared folder as well as the sent items. Any ideas anyone?

If you do DISCUSSSIONs this happens. (post discussion note)

With regular e-mail it does not. Working wonderfully by design.

clarication: if you do a posted note into a discussion, all works well.
E-mail is e-mail, and therefore replies go into sent items. It makes sense
if you think about it.

Sure, it makes sense... However, I think the user was hoping to be able to read all correspondence of all email that were replied-to while in the shared folder. For instance, if I received an email and placed it into the shared folder, then every member of the shared folder could read that email - but, after I place it into the shared folder AND then I replied to it, none of the members can see what the reply was because it only exists in my sent-items folder. Also, if I reply to an email that is in the shared folder AND it was not "my" email but from another member's account... my reply STILL gets placed in my sent-items folder and remains unavailable to the rest of the members. I understand what you mean about the Posted Notes... but I do not believe that is very helpful when dealing with internet-email (non-system email). It would be very useful to the members of the shared directory to be able to view all correspondence (both received and sent). I just wanted to know if there was a feature I overlooked that allowed the reply of an email to be copied to both the sent mail and the shared folder (or, at least a link to the reply in the sent-items folder). Or, perhaps someone has generated some handy logic in a rule that addressed this sort of issue. Thanks.

but you can morph the form of mail. You can change it to a posted note. Yes
it is an extra step, but it can be done.

Or simply bc your self, and then drag it into the shared folder.

True, but.....

Set the view of the folder to discussionthread, and when you drag the
send mail into the folder, the reply will appear indent to it's parent,
or ????

True, but that wasn't the deal.

The Q was sending to external people, and still letting the subscribers
of the shared folder to see this send item, or am I missing something
here ???
