Hi!

GroupWise Server and clients are running 6.5.1 version. Most of the laptop
users have caching enabled so they are able to maintain automatically sync'd
emails with them.

One user's GroupWise box is not able to create local mailbox for caching
function. The following is seen when trying to create remote mailbox
(caching or hit the road -function):

09:30:05 Send/Retrieve Novell GroupWise
09:30:11 Connecting to 172.16.126.34:1677...connected
09:30:12 Retrieving all items (sent 100% of 19533 bytes)
09:30:36 The Online GroupWise system had an error processing a request.
Try sending another request.
Error #d909
09:30:36 Folder updated.
09:30:36 Folder updated.
09:30:36 Folder updated.
09:30:37 Request for all GroupWise items failed

We have done all possible repair function through ConsoleOne for the user:
- Analyze/Fix Databases for both user & msg db: Structure & Contents, Fix
- Structural Rebuild for the user
- Re-create User Database

...all these repairs are successfully completed but they don't help.

The user has 9800 emails in this box (since 1998!). There are no folders,
all emails are in inbox (and sent items).

Any ideas how to troubleshoot?
Could the big mailbox size cause the problem?

Best Regards, Harri

I had some strange issues with a cache mailbox, not as major as yours but repairs did nothing. I ended up dropping the user from the guardian database after archiving his messages as outlined in TID 10027113. Once the database was recreated I unarchived his email and it worked great. You will of course have to switch to Online mode for your user since the mailbox will not download initially anyway. You could also hit your user's mailbox with and IMAP client if you turn it on temporarily or use WebAccess to clean up the mailbox before doing any of this. I hope that helps.
