This isn't really a password issue (its a side-effect really) - do all the
users use the same login method, such as NDS or such? If not, you may find
some commonalities between the failed users (that they all use the same
method, for instance) and the Solaris box may not have that NMAS method
installed ...

Use iMonitor, ds trace, +nmas. I wonder if you're having an NMAS problem.

Ok, well that at least partially explains your problem. If NMAS can't
find the login sequence, you're not going to get far. Beyond that, I
don't know, but you might ask over in the NMAS support forum
(novell.support.modular-authentication-services) to see if anybody there
has a good idea.
