Also, schema is different because the products are different. eDir does a
lot that OpenLDAP does not (partitioning/replication is done involving
schema, for example). You could modify OpenLDAP schema to be
more-compliant, but most LDAP-native things (users/groups) should work
more or less as they are.

Good luck.

Novell Identity Manager can do this easily and in realtime (and
perpetually) bidirectionally.

Good luck.

Novell Identity Manager

I'm reasonably sure that OpenLDAP supports schema extention if you need
to do that.

eDirectory and OpenLDAP are completely different products. Novell does
not create plugins for iManager for OpenLDAP. Management of OpenLDAP can
be done somewhat from within YaST within SUSE-based Linux but this is the
unix forum so I'll assume you are not using Linux.

Good luck.

There is an iManager plugin for _managing_ IDM, but there is a lot more
to Identity Manager than that. Read the docs:

Novell Identity Manager
'Novell Doc: Identity Manager 3.6 - Table of Contents'

I don't think you'll need one, but it depends _a_lot_ on exactly what
you're trying to do. Maybe you could provide some more details.
