Possibly. I'm 99.99% sure that all of that comes via SLP (what else could
it be after all?) and I never see it in my setup either because I don't
care about SLP and just go to machines directly.

Probably because ndsd is not registering ?
Either on linux use slptool or on windows slpsnoop to see if there are
any bindery.novell services registered.
With slptool you can find these using:
slptool findsrvs bindery.novell
