I'm stalling NDS on a existing tree, it is taking way to long, I want to
abort is there anything I can do without damaging nds

SOunds like you may be stuck for various reasons. If NDS was not healthy
to start you may not be able to complete the process. If you can identify
a problem server that is down or not healthy that may resolve your issue.

If you decide to just give up and shut it down or something like that
(which would be best avoided and I don't recommend that) then you will
likely have to do health checks and fix problems such as stuck replica
states and obituaries.
Search in the Knowledgebase for NDS health checks and Obituary for more
information.

It went from bad to worse, It had installed but the objects seem to be all
messed up, I removed and I'm now running a health check, I'm getting a lot
of dstrace errors, I think my tree was very sick, I'm letting it run, and
have a call into Sento (who I really hate talking to). Have not had in
luck when they are my only resource.

Well be very careful. The thing is not to make it worse than it is. I
don't know about Sento but if you are a CNE you can do a chat based
incident with Novell for $150. I would concentrate on the errors messages
in DSTrace and any bad replicas. It can be quite complex in a big tree.
First thing to make sure is your versions of NDS are the same if at all
possible(all NW 5.1 at the same DS.NLM version and the same for NW 6.x and
4.x) Also make sure time synchronization on all servers with replicas is
okay. If that is not the case you need to fix it. Then check for missing
servers such as the one you tried to add(maybe it didn't get removed yet.)
