Hi folks,

We're in the process of setting up CP R55. We have CP pulling the eDir
information (eDir 8.7.1.1) and we can use CP's secure client vpn if we
enter the distinguished name. The common name fails however.

Checked a few TIDs, and made the cn<->uid changes, as well as adding the
created ldap user to the ldap group, but the vpn secure client still gives
the "bad username or password" error using the cn.

Anyone have another idea?

Thanks.

Jim

Jim,

Standard LDAP authentication *requires* a DN ... for those applications that allow you to use a CN basically does a search in the background for you. So, as I see it, its a client application issue here ...

Hi Peter,

Thanks for responding.

Can you point me to some docs or TIDs that might explain that more
thoroughly? I'm not as versed on ldap as I need to be.
