interrupted install

i was updating a number of server from 8.7.0 to 8.7.3 today

on one server i started install from nwconfig and then server rebooted as
it should but when it came back up it abended when it loaded the nic (n100)
i ended up having to start it with a -na and rem out the nic

when it rebooted it started the wizard as expected but stated it couldnt
continue as it couldnt see network

i fixed the nic issue and then rebooted - when you type version - it
registers as 8.7.3
ds registers as this as well and the products.dat is updated

i tried to reinstall but all you can do with this is add a new language
and you cant unistall

how can i verify all is ok - is there a way to manually update this or
reinstall it as such or what advise can you give

If you are attempting to reinstall eDirectory, you won't be able to do so, until you remove the "edir" from the products.dat. (NWCONFIG | View/Install products)

 

This is what I would do to reinstall edir:

 

back up the PRODUCTS.DAT - Just copy this somewhere else.

Load DSREPAIR -RC (to back up the DIB) - will write the back file to the SYS:\SYSTEM\DSR_DIB directory

 

From the server console type "UINSTALL EDIR"  This will remove the edir from the Products.dat

 

Then reisntall eDir from the 8.7.3 download.

 

It sounds like you never got to the GUI portion of the install, which does an install of ConsoleOne, Certificate Server, NMAS, etc. It shouldn't hurt to reinstall edir with the steps above.
