Like in another thread posted here I have in place a NetWare Tree with NW
6.0, 5.1, 5.0 servers and have an NT 4.0 Domain. I have upgrade protection
on Netware, NAM and Windows so I have the latest veersions of all the
software. I just have not had time/hardware to move from the test lab to
production. I'm looking to move my 5.0 servers out, either migrate or
upgrade and want to switch from NT to AD. I plan on building a new AD
forest not upgrading the NT domain. The DirXML starter pack will move all
of my NW/NT user accounts and the passwords to the new domain so that will
save a lot of time but I have some questions. With NAM 3.0 being phased out
and DirXML being changed to NIM 2 we will get that in the mail at about the
time I had planed on being halfway through the upgrade, should I wait for
NIM 2? The DirXML starter pack will sync everything I am to sync'ing now
and exchange. From what I'm told by our Novell sales rep they are working
on a Driver for Lawson which is what we use for HR. So NIM will eventualy
be needed? Or can I just go with the starter pack now and add the Lawson
driver later?
