Hi all,

A client of mine is intending to replace a nw6-server by nw65. The old
server is running DirXML1.1a.
The new Server will be NW65 with DirXML-Starterpack. The new Server will
also have a new IP and (maybe) a new name. Name of the Tree will remain
(multi-server-tree).

I am planning the move of the DirXML-Driver-Configuration. The only active
Driver is an active-Directory-driver with Exchange-Support and Pwd-Sync
enabled. The driver is running in Remote-Loader-Configuration on an Windows
2000 AD.

Below are the task which we are planning to do:

5.1 backup driver-Config (export)
5.2 add server-index for Attribute "nadLoginName" on another server
5.3 stop driver
5.4 unload dirxml-module
5.5 remove server from tree
5.6 install new Server NW6.5 incl. DirXML-Startpack
5.7 Ensure needed R/W-Replicas are on new Server
5.8 Ensure R/W-Replica of Driverset is on new Server
5.9 ensure dirxml-module is running.
5.10 add new server to ServerList of Driverset
5.11 move server-index for Attribute "nadLoginName" to new server
5.12 start driver with dstrace-screen enabled to check for errors

Maybe we need to reimport the driver after Pos. 5.10 to reflect the new
Server (?)

Any comments, hints or pitfalls here ?
(Comments always welcome)

Thorsten

Yes, you need to reimport the driver after 5.10. If you are worried
about losing changes that occur between the time you take down the old
server and add the new one, you may want to add the new server and get
it set up for DirXML before you do anything tothe old server.
