If any of you have been around long enough and have worked with Novell
products for anything more then say more then 5 years then this should
be old news to you.
Novell has always taken the position of creating a rich 3rd party
interface to build products the work in concert with its products.
Novell does not want to be, nor should they be, the sole source for
everything E-Mail.
Novell provides well documented interfaces and API's and actively
encourages third party development.
Just think of what you get in GW.
You get an enterprise level Mail & Office prodcutivety system that is
pretty much indestructable and is immune to damn near every virus that
has come out.
There are plenty of 3rd party tools for manipulating most all of the
message store, doing global rule setting, globel this that and the other
setting.
Yes there are a few things Novell could add to GW that would make
certain things easier and I am sure those are on their way.
Right now I'm looking at paying twice as much for GWAVA as I did for GW.
That's okay, I pay more for my backup software than for NetWare, so I should
be used to it.
