For several months now e-mail worms have been sophisticated enough
to "spoof" the from field in infected e-mails it sends out. So why
haven't e-mail administrators gotten smart enough to change their e-mail
scanners to stop replying to the supposed sender?

If you haven't checked your gateway virus scanners lately, do your fellow
administrators a favor - check it, if you have yours automatically
responding to the sender to "inform" them that they sent an infected e-
mail to your system, change it - just drop the infected messages - you
aren't responding to the sender of the virus, anyway! Your just adding
to the problem.

Because far too many "administrators" don't really know or understand what's
happening "under the hood" of their email system (whether it be GroupWise or
anything else). That's my theory, anyway ;-)

Thanks for the reminder. I sometimes feel like I'm the only one on this
particular soap box <g>
