mime.822 and mail size restrictions

I have noticed that when we recieve large attachments 10+ meg that there
is a mime.822 file that large also ( about the same size or large than the
attachments).

If the mime.822 file was NOT so large the email would not have been
blocked.
We use GWAVA to for SPAM/Virus filtering and use the mail size restriction
in it to block anything over 10meg.
Why is there a large mime.822 AND you also see the attachments? What can
we do about this??
