Hi all,

(This happens in GW 6.5, dunno about other versions)

When an attachment of a saved draft message is edited and changes to the
attachment are saved in the application (e.g. MS Word), this seems not to
be regarded as a modification of the message by GW. The "Save" button
remains greyed out, and there is no question dialog upon closing the
message. The changes to the attachment are simply discarded upon closing.

Only when the message body (or subject, recipients etc.) are also
modified, the attachment's changes can be saved. It seems that GW does not
notice changes in the attachment and thinks that "nothing happened".

Is there a patch, service pack or else available?

Best regards,
Heinz

Correct, as the opening and editing of attachments happens completely
outside of Groupwise.

No, this is just the way it works.

Thanks for the quick reply, Massimo.

Well, considering that this is not really a feature which makes life
easier for the user - how about keeping the "Save" button active at all
times? No harm will be done if an unaltered message is saved repeatedly,
and the case where a user edits just an attachment, then quits the mail to
send it later, only to find out that his changes have been lost, will be
avoided...

Best regards,
Heinz
