Are there any major known problems with GW sp3?
Is there a problem running a mixed sp3 and sp1 environment, as long as the
GW agents are on different servers?

Not that I have encountered. Indeed I have clients running SP2 agents with SP3
clients. The only thing I would encourage you to change to SP3 is the GWIA
domain and version.

Just to check, you're suggesting staying on SP2 for the MTA and POA agents
rather than sp3?

To be 100% straight with you, I would go straight to SP4. SP2 was much better
than SP1, but there have been a few oddities found with the SP3 client. I have
never as yet had problems between different SP versions of GW.
