We've got a GW 5.5.3 system with a Primary Domain, PO, and GWIA.
Additionally, we have an External Domain and PO at our (remote)
administrative office. We have been running a DMS Library locally for 2+
years with no real issues, but now we would like to create a new one for
our Sales Team. Most of our Sales Team connect to our local network (via
either dial-up or broadband VPN) and should have no problem seeing the new
Library; however, our remote office cannot see the Library from the GW
client. This office resides on a separate private LAN that is connected
to our LAN via a VPN. GroupWise email traffic between the 2 networks
routes with no problems. Any ideas as to why we can't see this new
Library from the remote office?
Many thanks,
Al Sears
Thanks for responding to my question. I've tried sync-ing the library,
but so far there has been no effect. To be sure that I understand you:
Sync-ing the library will propagate the info therein to our remote PO
(across our VPN), where that PO's users will be able to access the
contents of this library remotely. What am I missing? When I try to
access the library via the remote client (using 'Tools -> Options ->
Documents'), I keep seeing "There are no document libraries available."
What port does the sync information use? I think it's unlikely, but I can
check to see if the firewall is blocking the sync info.
I have your Sybex GW 5.5 Admin text, but I'm not finding anything to
assist with this issue. Any other tips?
Thank you for your time. Regards,
Al Sears

If you hust need them to see documents, you could take a look at the
web publisher component of WebAccess. They could then access with a
browser.

WebAccess sounds like a good compromise for us, and we'll (IT Dept) just
handle the library administration.
