One of my users has WinXP, GW 5.5 and Office97. In Excel, he uses the
Personal Macro Workbook (personal.xls). When he goes to exit Excel using
File>Exit, he is getting the error "Runtime error 91, object variable or
with block variable not set".

According to Novell TID 10011083, this problem can be fixed by removing all
files except GWXL97.XLA and MSCREATE.DIR from the XLSTART directory.
Personal.xls was saving in the XLSTART directory, so I went into
Tools>Options in Excel and set the alternate startup location (on the
General tab) to the Microsoft Office>Office>STARTUP directory in order to
have personal.xls save to a folder other than XLSTART. Excel is now
correctly saving macros to personal.xls in the STARTUP directory, but the
runtime error has not gone away, even though the only files that are now
located in the XLSTART directory are GWXL97.XLA and MSCREATE.DIR. I did not
find a solution to this in Novell's knowledgebase.

Thanks.
