I have one user that is no longer able to search any of the GroupWise
libraries. He will enter his search criteria hit the find button and the
search window pops up. You can see the counter for the found results
increasing, which indicates that there are documents being found however
nothing appears in the search result window. It stays blank. After a few
seconds GroupWise crashes saying "GroupWise has generated errors and will be
shut down. Restart Groupwise".
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software and rebuilt his user ID but
he is still getting the same problem. Does anyone have any suggestions?

This is what we are currently running:

Windows 2000 Service Pack 3

GroupWise V. 5.5.6.1

Netware 5.1, Support pack revision 05

Thanks
Julian

Does it happen on every machine for his account, or any account on his
workstation ?

Cheers Dave

This happens only with his ID. If I log ito GroupWise with My ID on his
computer it works fine.

And logging into GW as him doesn't work on your machine ?, it sounds
video driver related though, I'd be tempted to delete/rename his Windows
user profile and try it again

If I log on as him on my machine I get the same thing. His machine has been
re-imaged and he is still getting the same issue. I'll try renaming his
windows profile. See if that helps.

I assume from that you are using roaming profiles ?

How exactly is he setting up the find, Advanced or Find by Example ?

We are not using roaming profiles here. I log him off the network and log
into his system with my id and it functions normal. If I log him back on to
the network he has the same problem. This happens on all systems that he
has logged into so far. I do not think that this issue is related to his
wondows profile or even the the groupwise client.

when searching he is doing a find by example. He has also tried the advanced
find and got the same results. However If he creates a new search results
folder with either a customs find or a custom find by example search
checked, that seems to work. After I create the folder I open it and it
brings up the search reults. Very strange

I missed whether you have done first a reset client options on his
account, and then a structural rebuild ?
