System: GroupWise 5.5 EP, sp 5.
Previously I posted about this issue, but a different way of looking at it
occurred to me, so I thought I would present it. Due to a failing HD, since
replaced, we had a group of accounts that were corrupted or otherwise
damaged. When trying to view details of the NDS account, all the GW
sections are grayed out, so they cannot be altered. This means no
disabling, no add/remove from distribution groups, etc. The mailbox id
(jdoe, for example) is visible, but the account id is blank.

If I go into the GW View, I get a different perspective. I cannot see the
account at all, but I can see it in two Distribution Lists that it was added
to when the account was created (via a template). It's almost as if the
creation failed partway through or a part of the process is in limbo. In
some cases accounts are fully functional, just "untouchable" by admins. In
other cases they failed to add to Distribution Lists and now can't be added.
In most cases external email can't make it through, but internal email works
fine.

Rebuilds on the Domain, PO and individual didn't help. I can't see any
pending operations, even though the first error I get is "Unable to read
GroupWise information for this object. Possible cause is GroupWise
replication still in progress." Only once in three attempts have I managed
to get the "archive, create new account, edit FID, unarchive" method to
work.

Any suggestions welcome. We're delaying a 6.5 upgrade until we can get this
resolved. I'd rather not open an incident with Novell, but I'm just about
to that point.

Thanks.
Neal

You are well advised to clean this up before migrating.

You need to disassociate GW from NDS and regraft. To do this use a non
snapped in NWAdmin and delete the Domain, PO and agent objects. Use
gwsupp.fil in NWadmin to remove all GW attributes see TID10007897. Then
regraft. Finally rebuild the domain and PO(s). If the DLs are still
screwy, I'd recreate them.
